Thomas (Tom) Pecora is the author of “GUARDIAN – Life in the Crosshairs of the CIA’s War on Terror” – a historical memoir chronicling his 24 years in the CIA in protective operations, counter-terrorism and security working in some of the worst terrorist hotbeds in the world.
Tom retired from the CIA as a GS 15 where he had worked in protective operations, counterterrorism, and security training, most of it operating in low intensity conflict areas. Chief of Security in Southeast Asia, South Asia, and the Middle East, Tom was responsible for countrywide security programs ensuring the safety and security of all CIA personnel in high threat environments. A seasoned protective operations veteran, he led teams protecting CIA personnel and visiting VIP personnel to include the President, Vice President, as well as Senate and Congressional Delegations. Tom spent 3 years providing protective operations training courses to foreign government protective services from Latin America, Southeast Asia, the Middle East, and Europe. Tom received the Intelligence Star, the CIA’s second highest honor for valor and the Career Intelligence Medal for service reflecting exceptional achievements. Tom has 30 years of experience as a security professional and as Director of Pecora Consulting Services, he provides security vulnerability and threat assessments, as well as personal safety and crime prevention/avoidance skills training. |
